Turmeric is commonly used in cooking. You probably know turmeric as the key ingredient in curry. It has a warm, bitter taste and is frequently used to flavour or colour curry powders, mustards, butters, and cheeses.

But the root of turmeric is also used widely to make medicine. It contains a yellow-coloured chemical called curcumin, which is often used to colour foods and cosmetics.

Curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric, and have many scientifically proven health benefits, such as the potential to prevent heart disease, Alzheimer’s, and cancer. It is an effective anti-inflammatory and antioxidant and may also help improve symptoms of depression and arthritis.

Turmeric Powder is versatile, you can use it in various ways

 Curcumin Turmeric Powder

Turmeric Milk

Milk / Coconut Milk

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon honey

Pinch of black pepper powder

¼ teaspoon of ginger powder


Heat the Milk, and Add the ingredients, for about 4-6 minutes and serve immediately as the warm milk is amazingly effective for sore throat

For the People who do not prefer milk, you can make

Turmeric Tea

2 cups Water

½ Teaspoon of Turmeric Powder

½ Teaspoon Ginger Powder

¼ Teaspoon Black Pepper Powder



Bring the water to boil, add Turmeric Powder, Ginger Powder, Black Pepper Powder and let boil or 4-6 minutes, strain in a cup and add honey.


Turmeric Face Mask

1 Tablespoon of Turmeric Powder

1 tablespoon of Honey

Add Milk – depending on the consistency you like you can use yogurt instead of milk

You can add both milk and yogurt

Tada – Apply the mixture in your face, and arms, and let it sit for 20 minutes


Turmeric Anti-Dandruff Treatment

  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Mix turmeric and olive oil and apply to scalp. Leave on for 15–30 minutes before shampooing

You can always wash your face again or wipe it with a milk-soaked cotton ball to help remove any staining.
